Drew Barrymore Pausing Talk Show Return Amid Writers Strike Pushback – The Hollywood Reporter



Drew Barrymore has introduced she is pausing her self-titled discuss present amid the writers strike.

She concluded, “We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.”

The information that she could be pausing the present comes days after the discuss present host posted her now-deleted video apology on Instagram. She defined within the clip that she was accepting accountability and didn’t have a “PR machine” behind her choice to restart the present regardless of the continuing writers strike.

“I certainly couldn’t have expected this kind of attention,” she stated about her choice within the video. “We aren’t gonna break rules, and we will be in compliance. I wanted to do this because as I said, this is bigger than me, and there are other people’s jobs on the line.”

Shortly after Barrymore introduced her present could be returning, a spokesperson for the Writers Guild informed The Hollywood Reporter that it had stayed off the air for the reason that strike started however has now “unfortunately” determined to air with out writers

“The Guild has, and will continue to, picket any struck show that continues production for the duration of the strike,” the spokesperson stated, including that the WGA was anticipated to picket outdoors Barrymore’s present the next day.
